Coriander Seeds

Eagle & Scooter grades, single and double parrot

CBIL supplies Indian coriander seed (dhania) from the Ramganj, Kota and Gadag belts in the grades the trade prices against — Eagle (bold, bright green, the premium grade), Scooter (smaller berry, the volume grade), and single and double parrot quality where colour retention is the selling point. Green colour is the visual marker buyers pay for and it degrades with age and poor storage, so crop year matters: we supply current-crop material and are explicit when a lot is carry-over. Volatile oil typically runs 0.3–0.5% and is the specification that matters for extraction and aroma-led blending.

Material is machine-cleaned, Sortex colour-sorted and metal-detected, certified by SGS or Intertek for purity, moisture, admixture, volatile oil, ash and pesticide residue, with steam-sterilised and ETO-free options for EU and US entry. Coriander is a high-volume base in curry powders, garam masala and seasoning blends, and also feeds oleoresin extraction and the brewing trade. We arrange 25kg and 50kg PP or jute bags, container-load, on FOB, CFR and CIF terms, whole or ground to your mesh.

Coriander Seeds — buyer questions

What is the difference between Eagle and Scooter coriander?

Eagle is the bolder, brighter-green premium grade with better appearance and typically higher volatile oil — specify it where the seed is visible or aroma-led. Scooter has a smaller berry and prices lower, which makes it the sensible choice for grinding into blends where appearance does not carry through.

Does crop year affect coriander quality?

Yes, significantly. The green colour that buyers pay for fades with age and poor storage, so carry-over stock looks and prices differently from current crop. We supply current-crop material by default and tell you explicitly if a lot is carry-over.
