Unhulled white, brown & black seed by oil content

CBIL supplies natural sesame seed — unhulled, with the seed coat intact — in white, brown and black types, graded on purity (99/1 and 99/2), oil content and admixture rather than on whiteness. This is the crushing grade and the visual-contrast grade: crushers buy on oil content, typically 48–52% and often higher on African-origin white seed, because they are paying for yield and the hull is irrelevant to them; bakery and confectionery buyers take natural white or black seed where the seed is meant to be seen dark and toasted on a bun, bagel or cracker. Black sesame carries its own demand out of Asian confectionery, paste and dessert manufacture and is not interchangeable with white — it prices separately and moves on a different crop.

A buyer picks natural over hulled whenever the hull does no harm: crushing, dark roasting, contrast topping, feed and bird-seed compounding. Natural seed is meaningfully cheaper because it skips a hulling step and the weight loss that comes with it, and it keeps better because the intact coat slows oxidation — so the default question is not whether to buy hulled but whether you have a reason to. Sesame's EU risk profile still applies whatever the form: Salmonella and ethylene oxide residue drive most RASFF findings on this line, so lots are pre-screened at origin. Every lot ships with SGS or Intertek certification of purity, oil content, FFA, moisture, admixture, pesticide residue and Salmonella status, Sortex-cleaned and metal-detected, in 25kg and 50kg PP or jute bags, container-load, on FOB, CFR and CIF terms.
