Oxidized Bitumen (Blown Grades)

Blown grades 85/25, 90/40, 115/15 for roofing & waterproofing

Oxidized bitumen is air-blown at temperature to raise its softening point far above what a paving grade can reach, and the grade notation says exactly that: 85/25 means a softening point of roughly 85°C with penetration around 25 dmm, 90/40 is softer at the same heat resistance, 115/15 is the hardest and most brittle of the common grades. CBIL brokers 85/25, 90/40, 95/25, 105/35 and 115/15 to ASTM D312 and the equivalent roofing-bitumen specifications, with flash point ≥ 250°C, solubility ≥ 99.0% and loss on heating ≤ 0.5%, all certified by SGS or Intertek at load port. The blowing process changes the binder's whole character — it becomes rubbery and temperature-stable rather than thermoplastic, which is precisely why it will not flow off a vertical surface or a sun-heated roof deck.

That is the distinction from 60/70 and 80/100: a paving grade is engineered to stay workable and flexible under traffic, an oxidized grade is engineered to stay put under heat with no traffic on it at all. Buyers choose within the family by service temperature and substrate movement — 90/40 and 95/25 for roofing felt and membrane saturation where some flexibility must remain, 85/25 for general waterproofing and adhesive compounds, 105/35 and 115/15 for pipe coating, insulation board and hot-climate roofing where softening resistance outranks flexibility. Supply is arranged from UAE, Bahrain, Iran and Singapore loading points on FOB, CFR and CIF terms, in new steel drums (150/180 kg), 300 kg jumbo bags, bitutainers or hot-bulk vessel.
